Enterprise Investors (EI) acquired controlling stake in Netrisk.hu.

Netrisk.hu is the No. 1 independent online insurance brokerage in Hungary. It sells general insurance products such as 3rd party liability insurance, Casco, home and travel insurance products. It was the first to launch online price comparison and brokerage services in 2001. The company maintained its market leading position and had 770,000 registered users in 2010, while reaching revenues of EUR 5 million in 2009.

Enterprise Investors is one of the largest private equity and venture capital management firms in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe. The firm raised six private equity funds and one venture fund totaling €1.7 billion. By 2010, these funds invested €1.3 billion in 119 companies from a range of sectors and exited 91 investments, achieving total proceeds of €1.4 billion. The funds held investments in 28 companies from CEE in 2010.

As part of the transaction, EI committed itself to support the expansion of Netrisk.hu in Hungary and in the Central-East European region.
