The 100% sale of Fonyódi Ásványvíz Kft. to a group of Hungarian private investors was successfully closed in April 2021.
Fonyódi Ásványvíz Kft. and its legal predecessor have been dealing with mineral water bottling on the southern shore of Lake Balaton since the 1960s under the widely known Fonyódi brand. In addition to the natural and carbonated versions, Fonyódi’s products also include flavored spring waters, which have been awarded the Hungarian Product Award on several occasions.
In the process, the Seller, the Croatian-based Fortenova Group (formerly Agrokor), which has owned the company since 2004, aimed at reorganizing its operations in Hungary. As part of the reorganization, the distribution business, also belonging to the company and dealing with the exclusive distribution of Jana products in Hungary, was carved out from the operation, while the Fonyódi spring water bottling business was sold to a group of Hungarian private investors in a competitive sales process.
